Mercecdes' experience within the music industry stems from her work at Attic Music Group and Top Cat Entertainment. While working at Attic she secured one gold and one platinum award for her work with hip hop groups Run DMC and House of Pain. Further, she has worked with such artists as Mavis Staples, Digital Underground, Freddie Jackson, The Nylons and Weird Al Yankovic to name a few. Moreover, while working at Top Cat, she succeeded in gaining local recognition for R&B group RAM-Z, which assisted in securing the group a recording deal with TVT Records.
Now, Mercedes is doing her own thang, collaborating with Juno Award winner Lenn Hammond on Rage and bursting with the Chuckleberry penned, Guide Me, Mercedes shines with versatility and style.
The on-air personality has worked in radio for over 20 years at such stations as AM530, CIAO790, CHRY, and CFNY and has interviewed and worked with some of the reggae/dancehall industry's cream of the crop. You may catch Mercedes live every Thursday night from 11pm - midnight on www.ckln.fm.
Mercedes has also made her debut to the theatrical stage with roles in Danger To The Public and Reasoning With My Sister while acting as a movie extra in Common Ground, Prom Night III and other feature films.
The Social Science and Humanities educator who lives to inspire will continue to make moves as she journeys through life acquiring and sharing her talent, skills, knowledge and ability. Look out for more mind bending tracks from Mercedes in the year to come. Her mantra....it's all about Movements!
