Issu de la longue tradition des KOUYATE, griots de l'Empire Mandingue de pères en fils, Alseyni KOUYATE dit SEYNI dénonce inlassablement les dérives du monde actuel et la souffrance des êtres humains de tous pays.
Ce n'est un secret pour personne: l'Afrique va mal. Violences, corruption et guerres ethniques sont les piliers d'un marasme démocratique où l'arbitraire est souvent roi.
Et SEYNI le sait. Lui, le Guinéen qui regarde son pays se fourvoyer dans les mêmes travers, l'Artiste qui nous livre ses sentiments en musique.
Alors, il chante et raconte, en Malinké sa langue natale, en Français, et parfois en Anglais.
Durant sa carrière SEYNI a passé plusieurs étapes artistiques; Danseur professionnel (KOTEBA D'ABIDJAN, ballet national de Guinée#, Acteur et Compositeur #«La Vie Platinée» de Claude CADIOU avec MAMADY KEITA, dans lequel SALIF KEITA interprète des morceaux de SEYNI#, Musicien pour MORY KANTE #tournées en Afrique#.
Chanteur engagé et militant, il enregistre son premier album "ALLAH NIKKI" [1993] avec BDM, puis "NANA" [1999] et "LIMANIYA" [2000] avec la formation de renommée SEYNI & ROOTSABA.
Son groupe actuel SEYNI & YELIBA #les grands griots# se compose de 8 musiciens professionnels, tous réunis autour de leur amour de la musique.
SEYNI, auteur, compositeur, interprète, crée depuis bientôt 30 ans son YANKADI REGGAE #rencontre des rythmes traditionnels Guinéens et du Reggae Jamaïcain#. Il se produit avec une puissance extra-ordinaire en live.
Formé en 2003, le groupe sort une compilation «N'TARA» #Music' Action/Mosaic#.
Puis en 2005, SEYNI & YELIBA enregistre l'album live «LIBERTE» #Soulbeats Rec./Nocturne#.
Et en 2008 c'est l'album «MON GENERAL» qui voit le jour #Vmusic#.
Depuis 2003, SEYNI aura fait plus de 500 concerts en France, Afrique, Belgique, Allemagne, Suède, Autriche, Pologne, Suisse, Italie, Espagne,etc...
